Easter was so much fun with Caleb! It is amazing how much more aware he was than at Christmas time. I feel like he enjoyed the day as much as we did.
Shortly after he woke up, we put his Easter basket on the floor and he crawled right over to it. He knew it was for him. Unfortunately, his pictures with the Easter basket are all blurry. I wasn’t thinking about lighting, I just wanted to make sure I got pictures of him enjoying his basket!
The first thing he grabbed was the rubber ducky. He would put it in his mouth, pull it out, look at it, and squeal with delight. Then he would do it all over again. We laughed and laughed! Finally, he started reaching for the rest of the items one-by-one getting excited about each object. I am so glad I decided to start his Easter basket tradition this year because he really enjoyed it!
We ate breakfast together. I kept the table decorations simple, just a small vase and the eggs that we dyed the night before.
At church we kept Caleb with us because the last several weeks he has cried and cried in the nursery and we knew there would probably be extra babies in the nursery for Easter. In the service Caleb put on a show. He kept playing peek-a-boo with the usher and smiling at every one. Thankfully, Daddy was holding him, I just acted like I didn’t notice all of the attention!
The music department portrayed a drama of Christ on the cross, His resurrection, and Him conquering sin and death. It moved me to tears, when I thought about Christ choosing to suffer death on the cross for me and my sin. I am so thankful that He loved the world and that He didn’t stay dead, but rose again! I serve a risen Savior!
After church we spent lunch and the afternoon with my in-laws. It was a great time, and Caleb enjoyed being around his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousin.
Then we came home and enjoyed a quiet evening together. We also got to Facetime my parents and 2 of my brothers this weekend!
I feel like holidays are only going to get better from here on out. I can’t wait to start more holiday traditions with Caleb this year!
