If you want to do fun things with your kids this Christmas, you’ve got to plan for them, otherwise they won’t happen. And here’s the thing, you don’t have to plan crazy, complicated Christmas activities. Sometimes simple is the best because it is less stressful.
You don’t have to be perfect.
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else in real life or online. Just enjoy the sweet “good enough” moments this Christmas season!
This month we are doing a lot of activities with items we already have at home or free printables online. Here are a few ideas.
1. Q-tip Painted Christmas Tree
2. Wrap kid’s bedroom doors with wrapping paper.
Use wrapping paper from Dollar Tree to keep the cost low!
3. Make sugar cookies.
We used Christmas sprinkles from Aldi. They are only $2.98.
4. Look at Christmas lights while wearing PJ’s.
This is such a fun one for the kids! Riding around in the car in their PJ’s is something they will remember for a long time.
5. Drink hot cocoa.
If there is a cold day coming up, plan on drinking hot cocoa with your kids. It’s such a fun treat, and you don’t have to use a hot chocolate bar with all the fancy trimmings if you don’t have the time of money.
6. Use watercolors to paint a Christmas tree.
I printed off this free Christmas tree printable and used a watercolor paint set that we already had. Then my kids added stickers to their trees. You could use whatever stickers you have on hand.
7. Make homemade ornaments.
In years past I’ve made these applesauce cinnamon ornaments. This year we made salt dough ornaments. I’ll share a post soon with all the directions and our final outcome.
I want to end this post with this quote that I shared on Facebook.
Pin it for later.
