Today I want to share one of my favorite cleaning hacks of all times! How to remove sticker residue from clothes even after they have been washed and dried!

Both of my kids are big fans of stickers, and sometimes the stickers get left on their clothes even in the wash. Recently, I found some sticker residue left on my son’s shirt after I pulled it out of the dryer.

If you have ever tried to remove sticker residue from clothes you know how irritating it can be to pick it ALL off and get the sticky gunk off too.

How to Remove Sticker Residue from Clothes

1. Purchase Goo Gone from a local store or online.

I originally purchased Goo Gone (affiliate link) to get labels of off glass jars, but later found out that it works on clothes too! It is only a few dollars and can be found at local stores. I got mine at Walmart.

2. Add Goo Gone to clothes with sticker residue.

You may need to test an area of clothing to make sure it is safe, but I’ve never had an issue using Goo Gone on our cotton shirts and denim pants.

The back of the Goo Gone bottle says do NOT use on silk, leather, suede, rubber, faux stainless steel, drywall, unfinished wood surfaces, or unsealed stone.

3. Easily peel the sticker residue off of clothing.

If your sticker left a really big mess, you may want it to sit for a few minutes. However, the Goo Gone worked right away for me and I was able to easily remove the sticker residue from the shirt.

4. Wash the clothing.

You’ll want to wash the clothing again, to get rid of the Goo Gone. It shouldn’t leave any sort of stain. Once I washed the shirt again, there was no sticker residue and none of the Goo Gone left on the shirt either.

I hope this saves you a lot of trouble the next time you have to remove sticker residue from clothes even after it has gone through the wash. Goo Gone is one of the cleaning products I always have on hand!
