25 Advent Bible Verses for a Christ Centered Christmas

Sharing is caring!

The Christmas season is always so busy, especially if you have kids. But even with all the extra activities this time of year, it’s important to set aside time every day to read advent Bible verses.

But maybe you have no idea what scripture passages to read or how to break it up each day in December.

That’s why I’ve put together this simple list of Bible verses for advent that you can easily read and meditate on this Christmas season.

Why is Advent important?

If the word advent is new to you, let me explain it really simply. Advent is anticipation, and during December you can prepare your heart with anticipation as you celebrate the coming of Jesus as a baby.

Because the reason He came to earth in human form, was to save us from our sin.

This is such an important part of Christmas that can easily get overlooked. Unless you intentionally focus your mind and your family’s minds on these things.

Reading Advent Bible verses in December helps you anticipate and focus your mind and heart on the true message of Christmas.

Advent Bible Verses

The Bible verses I chose to include in this this list are short and can easily be read to yourself or your children each day.

I typed them out in KJV because that is the most familiar Bible version, however, it’s always good to read it in other versions as well to understand the passage.

After you read the day’s verses, discuss them with your kids. You can talk about the names of Jesus, Mary and Joseph’s obedience, why the shepherds and wise men worshipped Jesus, and the way God worked in it all.

If you’d like to get these advent verses printed out on pretty cards, you can purchase them on my Etsy store.
