I haven’t shared a good old fashioned home tour in awhile here on my blog. But I thought that it would be fun to post some photos of my home decorated for Christmas.
Many of the decor in my home is thrifted from second hand or antique stores. I’ll share a little about those, but mostly just pictures. Enjoy!
Let’s start in my favorite space this year: the dining room.
The chalkboard and hutch are some of my most favorite second hand finds. I found the chalkboard at an antique store for only $5.
The hutch was $35 on Facebook Marketplace. I looked for months before finding this one.
Since we do homeschool in our dining room, I thought it would be a good place to add some fun Christmas decor.
The kids and I made these giant paper bag snowflakes last year, and the Merry Christmas banner came from Target over 10 years ago.
It was so much fun being able to decorate the hutch for Christmas! I kept it mostly simple by using my white dishes as a neutral backdrop.
The red pomegranate was for a study we are doing for homeschool, but it doubled as Christmas decor too!
I really enjoyed creating these little vignettes with pops of red.
Now, on to our living room. As you can see, I have a hodge-podge of furniture. All of the different colors are not my favorite, but I’ve tried to work with what I’ve got.
My goal was to create a cozy living room, as we spend a lot of time here in Decemeber.
Since we don’t have a mantle, I use the banister to hang our stockings. It has become a tradition.
I love this cozy corner in our living room!
My nativity scene takes center stage on my old trunk here in front of the front window. The stable was a thrift find for only $5.
I found it in the spring and stashed it away in our Christmas storage. I was so happy to finally be able to use it!
I made these 2 shelves a few years ago, so that I could display some of our Christmas decor.
All of the items on these shelves were either thrifted or passed down to me from my mom or grandma.
Last, let’s take a look at my kitchen. As you can see, I used a lot of red ribbon throughout my home this year. It was an easy and inexpensive way to add a festive touch for Christmas!
This little corner in the kitchen is so cozy at night when the rest of the lights are off. The Christmas lights on the tree are starting to go out, so I’ll have to replace it next year.
My son made this cute little foam truck at church. And I thought it was a fun little touch to add to the window above my sink.
We’ve been enjoying listening to Christmas CD’s on my old boombox. I always pull the boombox out at Christmas time.
