Do you have a bunch of random recipes that you have printed off the internet and stuffed in your kitchen drawer? They can easily become a disorganized mess. And ain’t nobody got time for that!

I’ve been wanting to organize my recipes into a recipe binder for awhile, and I’m SO happy with how it turned out.

This keeps my recipes organized, and I don’t waste as much time trying to find a certain recipe.

How to Organize Recipes with a Recipe Binder

1. Gather supplies.

  • 3 ring binder
  • 3 hole punch
  • printer
  • scissors
  • packaging tape
  • printed recipes

2. Divide your recipe into categories.

I divided my recipes up into the main categories that my family eats, but yours may be a little different.

Here are some common recipe categories:

  • main dishes
  • side dishes
  • salads
  • desserts
  • cookies and bars
  • appetizers
  • beverages
  • sauces
  • slow cooker
  • instant pot
  • breakfast

3. Create category dividers and print off.

I used Canva which is a free online program to create mine. You could use any computer program that you are familiar with. If you’d rather just print them out and not deal with the techy stuff, check out the recipe binder printable available in my Etsy Shop.

4. Add hole punches to dividers and add tabs.

Tabs are totally optional, but I like having them to easily get to each category. After cutting the tabs out, I folded them in half and reinforced with packing tape. Then I taped them to the back of each divider.

5. Add hole punches to each recipe and place behind correct category divider.

And that’s it! You’ll love having a more organized system as you meal plan and prepare dinner!

You may want to add additional helpful pages such as equivalents and meat temperatures.
